ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro said to the Provincial governments to ensure peace and resolve to maintain law and order throughout the country in order to protect the life and property of people. Talking to Chief Minister Sindh Abdul Qadir Halipota at PM Secretariat, the Prime Minister said federal government would extend all necessary cooperation to provincial governments to ensure peaceful atmosphere during general elections.
The Prime Minister said mandate of the interim set-up was to ensure peaceful environment for the upcoming general elections.
He stressed upon all political parties to abide by the code of conduct circulated by the Election Commission and the security guideline issued by the Interior Ministry to supplement government’s efforts for peaceful environment during elections.
The Prime Minister said the caretaker government would remain neutral towards all political parties and would ensure successful completion of the election process.
He asked the people to fulfill their responsibility by casting votes in the forthcoming elections.
The Chief Ministers apprised the Prime Minister of various steps taken by the provincial government to improve law and order situation as well as other arrangements to facilitate Provincial Election Commission to hold the elections in a peaceful environment.
