ISLAMABAD : Secretary General MMA and former opposition leader Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has said that President Pervez Musharraf while lobbing for his favorite candidates is working against his status as the constitution does not allow him to do so.
He expressed these views during the telephonic conversation with Maulana Amir Hussain Gillani and Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan and addressing the public meetings in Dera Ismail Khan.
He said that people of Pakistan would reject the elements working for foreign agenda in upcoming general elections and cast their votes in favor of MMA, which wants to make Pakistan a real Islamic State.
He further said that MMA is contesting the elections to expose the wrong policies of government and to disapprove the unconstitutional steps of it in next parliament and resolved that masses would rule out the unconstitutional steps of government.
He said that MMA is working for the supremacy of Quran and Sunnah and to resolve the public issues. Our government has completed record developmental projects in NWFP, he added.
He maintained that MMA believes on the freedom of media and opposition forces will have to be united for the freedom of judiciary and media adding that MMA would initiate measures for the freedom of media and judiciary.
