PPP has demanded a UN investigation into the murder of Benazir Bhutto.
This topic has been under discussion amongst both Pakistanis and international audience.
I would like to know everyone's views on this.
My view is that PPP demand is unjustified on the grounds that Pakistan has its own judicial and police system working. A UN investigating will be like an interference from everyone in out own matters which I would never like.
In my opinion their demand is justified because national probe was possible only if the judiciary is independent. How you can imagine a neutral and truth based investigation when police washed out all the evidences by clearing the place only after 2 hours of destruction. If they were serious to find the root cause then y and how it was possible to clean forensic evidence....?
Y the Doctors relied upon the consent of Zardari for not operating Post-martem of BB.....? As per the law of the country it is the responsibility to identify the cause of death of a person dead caz of any kind of accident. Then who asked them to uprule the law....?
Y the persons suspected by Benazir are not included in the probe even when Scotland Yard visited Pakistan....?
Y Scotland Yard is hired only to trace the reason for her death rather finding the true roots that are behind her murder....?
In the light of above points I believe there should be an independent probe I mean to say without the influence of our government officials. Although its not possible in present situation because UNO is an extension of USA and USA dont want to resolve this quagmire because at some stage they are also involved.
i must endorse your point of view regarding an independent inquiry by an impartial international agency except from that of SCOTLAND YARD as they are unable to solve the mystery of DIANA'S DEATH, but the demand of AUTOPSY seems to be a bit irrelevent as the cause of death is known to every one, and in last u have mentioned the name of the force behind her assasination so including those suspects which were once mentioned by BB in her letter may be of no significance

HOW THEY CLEANED THE PLACE OF OCCOURENCE QUICKLY.WHY THEY REMOVED SECURITY.
ASIF ALI ZARDARI REACHED 6 HOUR AFTER THE OCCOURENCE AND HE STOPPED FROM POST MARTEM WHAT THEY WANT FROM POST MARTEM.
--CAUSE OF DEATH ,THIS IS KNOWN TO EVERYBODY.
--MRI WAS ALSO ALTERNATE OF POST MARTEM WHICH WAS NOT STOPPED BY HER FAMILY.
THE NEXT DAY ,JAVED IQBAL CHEEMA CHANGED THE GOVT VERSION AND SHOWED THE CAUSE OF DEATH BY CAR LEVER WHICH WAS DENIED BY MANUFACTURER OF THE CARAS WEL AS THE WHOLE NATION.
THE PAKISTANI POLICE IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY THE RULERS HAVE THEIR OWN DESIGNS AND CONSPIRACIES AGAINST DEMOCRACY AND PPP. IN THIS SITUATION THEIR DEMAND FOR AN IMPARTIAL INVESTIGATION ABSOLUTLY ON MERIT.

In my opinion even Scotland Yard can make some fruitful investigation if they are working independently without the government pressures.
I m also agreed to the points of Farid Khan.
I am still standing by my arguements. Because it seems to me that if the UN investigation happens, it will be used as another forum to malign Pakistan.
Any investigation can take few months, and Pakistan will be again in news around the world for a thing which no one is proud of.
I think we should let Scotland yard report come before critsizing them.
You are right in your say that it will further malign Pakistan. But there should be a solution of this kind of secrete killing. If government has opted for clear stance we may not ask for it but changing statements of government has made it a burning question in our minds. So it should be resolved.
As far as the matter of Scotland Yard is concerned nothing can be done with binded hand and they are called with binded hands.
