    Rao Sikandar Iqbal, born in 1943, has been elected as a PPPP candidate and later joined PPPP (Patriot). He was inducted to the Federal Cabinet as a Senior Federal Minister with the portfolio of Defence. Rao Sikander Iqbal graduated from University of the Punjab with a B.A/LL.B degree and was Secretary General of the Students Union of the University. He was elected MNA for two previous terms in 1988 and 1993.
    During his political career, he was one of the founding members of PPP and has held office as Party President at the district level. He has also served as Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Cooperatives in 1988, Federal Minister of Sports, Culture and Tourism in 1993.
    Rao Sikander is married with four children.
